Based of an early example depicted next to my reproduction, mine are forge welded W1 tool steel and spark well, if you want a historically accurate striker for your fire outlook no further!
This fire steel is the classic Hudson Bay oval, perhaps the most widely distributed striker ever. Using an old striker as a starting point I have tooled up to make these in a repeatable manor. There would surely have been some variation from smith to smith.
I am not sure if these were made in country or perhaps imported from England.
You will recieve one striker , as depicted with my touch mark, I do not have a reliable source of flint but depending on your location there are plenty of options including quartz, jasper etc that you can source locally.
