Hand forged Crooked Knife, this is my interpretation of the traditional Mocotaugan or Waggikomaan as it is known locally to me. This style of knife predates europeans arriving to the north east of North America. Essentially a one handed draw knife perfect for crafting a paddle or even a complete canoe! Traditionally these knives were made from deer or moose bone and then after the European arrival steel. My crooked knife is made from a hand forged and heat treated piece of W1 tool steel, then the edge is sharpened. The blade is set into a hand carved handle that is ergonomically shaped to reduce straining the users wrist.
The handle has a wrap to secure the blade in case it ever needed to be replaced.
This it a right hand model but a left hand model could be made if you require, please allow a little extra processing time and be sure to select that option!
